Alex Austin was first introduced to the dental career field as a Dental Assistant in the United States Air Force. Not only was he trained in all aspects of the career field but received several accommodations and became the lead Perio-therapist for Fairchild AFB. After his enlistment, he stayed in Spokane and began working for Dr. Gunner Schneider Orthodontics and then Dr Duane Grummons Orthodontics for 5 years. In 2002, Alex started Paradigm Orthodontics. A small Orthodontics lab, serving Spokane and surrounding areas until 2018 when it was bought out by Aurum Dental Lab. 11 months later, Covid shut down the world and Alex entertained the idea of being a Real Estate Agent, which he did (doing ortho on the side) for 3+ years. During that time, Alex worked with/at Golden Dental Lab and later, Miller Dental Lab to support the offices that he provided orthodontic appliances for. In 2024, Alex started Platinum Orthodontic Lab to not only continue excellence in orthodontic appliances but to also broaden the scope of what could be offered to the dental community as a whole.

Alex has a beautiful wife, four children, and four (hopefully more) grandchildren. Being born in Northern California, raised in Oregon, and now living in Spokane for over 27 years... he considers himself a resident of the Pacific Northwest. His main hobbies are cooking (having taught cooking skills at The Kitchen Engine for 15 years), wine tasting, travel, and family gatherings.
